It's a trip without a flight! It's Memorial Day weekend, so we'll be taking our annual trip to Ocean City, but this time we're adding in a couple additional stops (because, why not?). It'll be a jam-packed weekend starting as soon as the kids get out of school on Friday and continuing into Monday evening. We are planning on making a loop down through Richmond, across to Norfolk, up through Chincoteague, to Ocean City and Rehoboth, before finally making a stop in Cambridge while fighting everyone else trying to get back to the western side of the Chesapeake Bay! And, of course, we'll be picking up a half-dozen additional national park sites along the way. Will we even have an opportunity to visit the beach? Only time will tell!

DAY 1 - Friday, May 27

4:30pm: To help acknowledge what this weekend is really about, we'll visit Baltimore National Cemetery with Alex's scouts to place flags on the memorial markers.

7:00pm: Grab some dinner and start the long, traffic-clogged drive through the nation's capitol.

11:00pm: Arrive at hotel in Chester, VA for the night.

DAY 2 - Saturday, May 28

DAY 4 - Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day)

10:00am: Today's plans are somewhat in flux. We'll likely start off a bit more relaxed and visit a couple local attractions in slower lower Delaware and grab some lighthouse passport stamps along the way.

12:00pm: We will either take the "long" road home and stop by North East, Maryland en-route, or we'll take the Cape May - Lewes Ferry into New Jersey to visit the Great Egg Harbor River (#279/423).

10:00pm: Sometime late this evening, we'll arrive back home!
