This was supposed to be a long trip across Tennessee for President's Day weekend, but due to the ridiculous number of snow days this year (with barely any snow), our county has "reclaimed" Washington's Birthday as a regular school day - a day that was not previously declared to be a snow makeup day! But, I guess it's better than going to school late into the summer. Anyway, with a slightly shortened itinerary, we won't spend much time in the Nashville area. Instead, we'll wrap up our national park sites in Alabama and Georgia on Saturday, with a quick trip to southwest Kentucky on Sunday. We have to pass through Nashville a couple times on this trip, so maybe we'll get a chance to experience some of the Music City. After all, we haven't been here since 2015!

11:00am: Heading over to Alabama (and Central Time) to visit Russell Cave National Monument (#265/423).

3:00pm: Ending the day's national park visits at Little River Canyon National Preserve (#266/423) and a hike.

7:00pm: Grabbing some dinner, possibly in the Nashville area.

DAY 3 - Sunday, February 20

8:00am: Taking a short drive through Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area before stopping by the Mayfield, Kentucky area, which was devastated by an EF4 tornado back in December.

10:00am: Checking out Fort Donelson National Battlefield (#267/423).

1:00pm: If we have time, we'll visit Parkers Crossroads Battlefield (NPS affiliated site).

3:00pm: Grabbing some lunch back in Nashville, and possibly checking out some of the local sights, if time allows.
